The Throgs Neck Bridge is a heavily traveled, 11,000-foot-long, suspended span bridge, connecting Bronx and Queens . Existing construction varies, and consists of a 1,800 feet main span, 555 feet side spans and approach spans on both sides.

Scope of work included furnishing and installing fender piles and scour backfill at various piers on Bronx and Queens approaches.  The fender piles were comprised of sand filled steel pile pipes with a concrete plug and a fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) jacket. The work also included repair of timber pile clusters and dolphin at the Bronx Anchorage.
